Cairo nights continue as normal

A few nights ago in Old Cairo, the streets were alive with the sound of Cairenes going about their business as usual, in stark contrast to the government’s tentative plan to impose earlier closing times for shops and restaurants that was announced at the end of Ramadan. The idea has been hotly debated over coffee, during meals and in the media, and at all hours of the day and night. But judging from the image above, it does not look like anything will change anytime soon.
